1. About the extension of the city hall hours of operation
The hours of operation have been extended for Tochigi City Hall since many citizens rely on their services.
The City Hall main office building’s closing time has been extended from 5:15 pm to 7 pm, Monday to Friday excluding New Years and other holidays.
The affected services are on the 2nd floor of the main building at the citizen life, medical insurance,municipal tax, property tax and tax collection sections.
In addition, the Ohira, Fujioka and Iwafune citizen life offices’ operating hours have also been extended from 5 pm to 7 pm on Fridays.
The citizen life section of the Tsuga branch have been extended on the second and fourth Fridays of the month. The citizen life Section of the Seihou branch accepts reservations for those who can come during the extended hours on Friday.

2. About Services for Citizens during Golden Week
The city hall offices will be closed from Saturday, April 27 to Monday, May 6 along with both the central office and general offices.
However, birth certificate, marriage registration and death certificate services will be held in the security room in the southwest corner of the city hall on the first floor.

3. About the change of national pension premiums
National insurance premiums are revised annually.
For those who wish to pay in cash, a payment notice will be sent from the Japan Pension Service in early April. Please pay the monthly premium by the end of the following month.
If you prepay in bulk, the premium will be discounted. If you wish to prepay, please pay by Tuesday,May 7.
4. About the disposal of plastic PET bottles
Please remove the label when putting out plastic bottles as recyclable waste starting Monday, April 1st.
If the label has not been removed, it will not be collected.
Also, even if you bring the bottles directly to "Tochigi Clean Plaza", the labels must still be removed.

5. About spring events in Tochigi City
From March 29 to April 14, Sakura Festivals will be held in several areas of the city.
Many areas around Tochigi City such as Ohira-san, Ohira Sports Park, Fujioka-watarase Sports Park,Tsugano-sato, Nishi-katakanasaki will all hold Sakura-related events.
यAlso, during Golden Week on May 1st and 2nd, the Edo-style doll floats that could not be seen until this spring will be on display at the area in front of Dashi-kaikan. It is a great opportunity to see these stunning sculptures and embroidery so don’t miss it!
