1. About the Corona Virus

Even in Japan, many people have been confirmed to have contracted the virus.

To avoid spreading the virus, it is important to wash your hands regularly and pay attention to the way you cough and sneeze.

When washing your hands, do so for at least 20 seconds with running water and soap. It is also effective to disinfect with alcohol.

If the virus gets on the hands, it could enter the body through the eyes, mouth and nose so do not touch your face before washing your hands.

If you have cold symptoms, a fever of 37.5 degrees or more that lasts more than 4 days, feel very fatigued or breathless, consult the Kennan Health and Welfare Center by phone at 0285-22-1219.

2. About the 2020 Olympic Torch Relay


On Sunday March 29th, the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Torch Relay will pass through Tochigi City.

In Tochigi City, 12 torch runners will run on a course approximately 2.5km in length, starting from Kauemon Cho and finishing at the plaza in front of Dashkaikan.

The tourist boats on Uzuma River will also be used.

Let's all support the Torch Relay from the roadside.

In addition, along with the implementation of the Torch Relay, traffic restrictions will be made on the roads around the relay route for the day.

3. About services at Tochigi City Hall on Sundays


In the main building of Tochigi City Hall, services will be available on Sundays during periods with many job and school transfers and a high demand for resident cards taking place.

The locations that take care of these matters are the citizen life section, medical insurance section and the municipal tax section of city hall. However, some other affairs are not able to be handled during these times.

The opening times are on Sundays from March 15th to April 19th, from 8:30 am to 5:15 pm.
